This means along with the 32 workout programs you already have at your disposal, you can through your iFit account (subscription required) download many more fitness programs. iFit also allows you to use Google Maps to create your own workout programs. iFit will use the terrain elevation of your route and offer it as a workout simulating hills by changing the resistance and incline settings of your machine. During workouts your heart rate is important to determine your optimum calorie burn (especially for certain calorie goal programs). The Endurance comes with dual grip EKG heart rate sensors (located on the center handle bars) and a wireless chest strap.
The Endurance 920 E Elliptical includes one large 2 speed cooling fan near the bottom of the console, and below that a water bottle holder (doesn't block your view), and a tablet holder which fits snuggle at the top of the console to allow for easy viewing.
How Does it Work
To start up the console on the Endurance 920 E all you need to do is start peddling or press any button. To start a regular workout you need to push the "Runner" button to bring up the workouts menu. From here you can select which workout category you want. You have 3 category options: Calorie Workouts, Intensity Workouts and Performance Workouts. There are also buttons for these categories on the console that you can use as a shortcut. There are 32 workouts in total and the screen will show the duration of the workout, an overview of the settings for incline and resistance, and approximately how many calories you are expected to burn. Once you have selected the workout you want you then push the "Start Workout" button.
On the screen you will notice that the workout is divided into many equal sections. For each section one resistance level, one incline level and one speed goal (target cadence) are assigned. As you workout you will want to keep your peddling speed close to the target cadence (displayed as revolutions per minute or rpm). To help you with this the target zone meter will indicate whether you need to decrease or increase your speed (or keep it the same). For some workouts the touch screen may show a map of your route and a marker which shows your progress.
At anytime you can manually override the ramp and resistance settings during the workout. To return to the workout settings you then just push the "Follow Workout" button. To pause your exercise you can press the "Back" or "Home" button and to return to the workout you press the "Resume" button. Finally, if you want to end the workout before it is over you push the "End Workout" button. Once the workout is ended a summary will be shown of the calories burned and the time the workout took.
