After I ordered from Frames Direct I read a lot of bad reviews about this online eyewear store. I was pretty nervous but am glad to report that I had no issues.
I had ordered a pair of prescription Ray-Ban sunglasses and they were delivered the following week to my house. No problems and my prescription was correct and the frames is what I had ordered.
My order went smooth so I am not sure why other people have complained. I love the glasses and glad I used Frame Direct as my eye doctor was going to charge me 30% more for the same pair of glasses and I was told it was going to take 3 weeks to get.
I accidentally broke one on the armes on my Harley Davidson sun glass frames. Boy was I upset.
I went to my eye doctor and they wanted $290 to replace the frames, I thought wait a sec and I checked online and found them for only $105 at Framesdirect.com. That is almost a $200 savings.
I ended up unscrewing the arm on the new frames and attaching them to my old glasses. I was just going to switch the lenses out but this way was a bit easier.
I purchased just frames with no prescription lenses on framesdirect last year because I wanted clip-on sunglasses and the optical brick and mortar store I used did not carry them. I ordered the frames a tad small for my head but with some slight bending I got them to fit fine. It was my fault as I knew the measurements was smaller than my last pair but things worked out so I chose to keep them.
Once I got the frames I gave them to my optical store which got the lenses made and put in. This time around I am going to order my complete glasses from framesdirect. Their customer service is very good and I love the wide selection they offer. Plus it takes just one step and the lenses are cheaper their than my optical store. I also like having unique frames that you don't see all over our small town.
I definitely recommend framesdirect. Just be sure you look at your frames and order the right size. ???? ????????
I used Frames Direct for the first time last year as a sort of test run. I order a pair of backup glasses choosing a frame that I liked and matched my measurements. Everything went great and the glasses fit fine (which was my biggest worry at the time).
This year I found out I needed new glasses when I went to the optometrist so I went ahead and ordered 2 new pairs through Frames Direct. My insurance covered only part of my order since it was 2 pairs so I wanted to make sure I got the best deal possible. One pair also needed to be progressive lenses which are not cheap to make. The other pair I ordered was prescription sun glasses but just for distance.
Both glasses fit well again though the one pair the color of the frames online I thought were black but in reality are a dark navy. Not a huge deal since they still look good when I wear them.
I ordered my prescription glasses from Frames Direct and had zero problems.
I got my prescription from my eye doctor and shopped around. I usually buy from Walmart but this time I decided to check out the online glasses stores and prices. Glad I did as Frames Direct beat the price Walmart had given me for the same frames and single vision lenses (at least as far as I could tell) by over $120.
Delivery took 2 weeks and the quality is great. I was playing basket ball with my son when I took a ball to the face. My glasses ended up falling off. I was worried that the frames where damaged and the lenses had scratched but after checking them over the only thing wrong was one of the nose pads was bent out a bit, an easy fix.
