I've tried a number of times to cancel my Ancestry account subscription using the cancellation wizard. It doesn't seem to work and I had another $25 taken out of my account. How do I cancel my subscription?
First note that Ancestry will not give you any refunds. When I used Ancestry about a year ago I paid for the full year since it was cheaper per month. 6 months in I found I was hardly using the service anymore so I tried to cancel and found out that they well not give any refunds.
When I did was I called the Ancestry customer service phone number and waited until I talked to someone live. Have them disable auto renewal and confirm it with them. This worked for me and I was not billed again.
I have heard from others online who called their credit card company and told them to stop the rebilling cycle which will prevent Ancestry from auto-debiting your account.
