How It Works
Getting yourself tested for STDs is private, inexpensive and hassle free:
- Visit STDtestExpress.com and take their private digital questionnaire which will help determine which tests you should take and where you need to go to get your samples collected.
- Take provided personalized lab order form to the certified lab. No appointment required. Visit lasts between 15 and 30 minutes and a blood and/or urine sample will be required.
- Your STD test results will be available in 3 business days or less and can be found on your secure account at STDtestExpress.com.
STD Tests
STD Test Express test for the following STD viruses: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Herpes 1 & 2, HIV 1 & 2 Antibody, and Syphilis. They also have an HIV Early Detection test which can be used in as little as 14 days from first exposure to detect the presence of the HIV virus in blood. Test results usually are available in 3 business days from when the samples where taken at the lab.
Personalized Test Recommender
To figure out which STD tests you require you first need to use the Personalized Test Recommender at the STD Test Express website. This digital tool asks you a number of questions to help you find a certified lab located close to you and to figure out what STD tests you need. Questions asked include (but not limited too) your gender, what symptoms you are experiencing, and if you have a partner who has an STD.
Privacy
Your privacy is important to STD Test Express. All communication including emails will come from APG Services. This name will also appear on credit card, HSA, and FSA statements if you choose to purchase a STD test through one of these payment methods.
Insurance
STD Test Express does accept health insurance plans. They accept plans from the following providers: Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CareFirst, Highmark, Humana, Premera, and The Regence Group. Unfortunately Medicare or Medicaid is currently not accepted. For any one or more STD tests you select to run, you will be required to pay $65 for the doctor's consult fee. If you are covered for 100% of the tests by your health insurance this can save you more than $200. You are required to pay for any portion of the tests cost not covered by your plan. The HIV Early detection test is not covered by insurance. Unfortunately insurance coverage is not provided in the following states: AR, DE, OK, SC, TX and VT.
Cost
To run all 7 STD tests it will cost you on average from $240 to around $300 depending on the lab selected (prices do vary by lab). You can pay by HSA (Health savings account), FSA (Flexible spending account), credit card, or debit card. For the HIV Early Detection test, it is usually an additional $60 - $100. Individually tests run from $79 to $119 depending on the test chosen. The more tests you select to run the greater the savings. Testing prices will differ depending on the testing lab selected.
STD Test Express has confidential and discreet billing. When paying by credit card the name APG Services will appear on your statement (plus any emails they send you).
A over the phone STD Specialist consult is included with the tests if any come back positive. On the phone they will explain to you the results and recommend a course of treatment. You will also be able to ask any follow up questions. Depending on the STD and the laws in your state you may also receive a prescription for medication from a licensed physician as part of your treatment. You could also be referred to a local specialists for further care.
Orders can be cancelled by calling STD Test Express customer care line. Patients will receive a full refund as long as they have not visited the lab and have cancelled within 21 days of placing the order.
